Escape The Heat At Holmdel Town Hall Cooling Center

Holmdel Town Hall lobby will be a cooling center now through Sunday for the public to shelter from extreme heat.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Starting Thursday, the Holmdel Office of Emergency Management will open the lobby of Town Hall as a cooling center so the public can find shelter during this heat advisory, the township says.

Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Hernando said the cooling center will be open 24 hours a day through Sunday for the protection of residents and the general public. Bottled water will be available.

Heat conditions should improve by Sunday, he said.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Thursday and an extreme heat warning for Friday, with temperatures expected to hover around 100 degrees, the emergency management office says.
