Holmdel Road Closures Planned Near Funeral Home: Police

HOLMDEL, NJ — South Holmdel Road between Highway 34 and Route 520 will be closed from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 18, and Thursday, Jan. 19, to provide access to Holmdel Funeral Home, police said.

The funeral home is handling arrangements for the Montanaro family of Hazlet, who lost a wife and daughter to a fire last week.

Viewings for Jackie Montanaro and her daughter, Madelyn, are today and Thursday. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. There are more details of the arrangements here.

A large amount of traffic is expected in the area for the viewings, said Lt. Michael Hughes.

Hughes said police will help direct access to the funeral home for those attending the viewings Wednesday and Thursday. Passing motorists should plan alternate routes.

On Friday, Hughes said sporadic delays on the road are expected, and police will direct traffic to allow for the procession from the funeral home after the services. South Holmdel Road will not be closed Friday, however.
