What drove you to seek public office?
My decision to return to public office stems from a deep and enduring commitment to the Holmdel community — the place where I've raised my family and proudly called home for nearly 30 years.
I've seen firsthand how impactful local government can be in people’s daily lives, and I want to continue playing a role in making that impact a positive one.
During my tenure as Mayor, this commitment was especially evident as I led daily communications with residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when there was widespread confusion, particularly among our senior population, I provided clear, consistent guidance and helped ensure essential services remained accessible.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
What sets me apart is a demonstrated track record of leadership, tangible results, and decades of experience.
I've proudly served four terms on the Holmdel Township Committee, and I’ve been elected Mayor multiple times by my colleagues because of my ability to lead collaboratively and deliver for our residents.
One of my signature accomplishments was the creation of the Holmdel Library and Learning Center at Bell Works — a modern, 18,000-square-foot facility secured through a no-cost, 30-year lease and a $1 million private contribution to offset construction costs. This replaced our old windowless library and created a vibrant educational and cultural hub for residents.
I also believe that public safety is the cornerstone of local government. During my time in office, we designed and built a centrally located firehouse, added two state-of-the-art fire trucks to our fleet, and invested in upgrades for both our First Aid and Police departments, ensuring our emergency services have the tools and infrastructure they need to protect the community.
What do you see as the biggest issue Holmdel is facing, and how will you resolve it?
The biggest challenge Holmdel faces today is maintaining our high quality of life while managing the rising costs of inflation and keeping taxes stable.
Fortunately, we’re in a strong position thanks to the successful redevelopment of Bell Works — a project I helped guide over a decade ago — which continues to be a valuable ratable asset for our community.
To address budget pressures without reducing services, we've embraced shared service agreements that cut costs and improve efficiency. Going forward, I will continue to look for innovative, fiscally responsible solutions to keep Holmdel thriving without placing additional burdens on taxpayers.
What are past accomplishments or experiences that make you qualified for this position?
I bring hands-on leadership experience in overseeing every major area of municipal government, including Public Safety, Public Works, Community Development, and Administration. I led the successful referendum to increase Holmdel’s Open Space fund, helping preserve the character and environment of our town for future generations.
Under my leadership, Holmdel achieved an AAA bond rating — allowing us to borrow at the lowest rates available — and implemented a robust road improvement plan to ensure our infrastructure remains safe and reliable.
Every decision I’ve made has been grounded in protecting what makes Holmdel special while planning for its future.
If elected, what do you most hope to achieve in Holmdel?
My primary goal is to continue building on the progress we've made — to protect and enhance the quality of life that makes Holmdel such a special place to live. A top priority is modernizing our infrastructure, especially in addressing the damage caused by multiple sanitation trucks traversing our streets daily.
I support a township-wide sanitation program that would not only reduce costs for residents but also decrease road wear, improve safety for children and school buses, and reduce the need for constant repaving. This is a practical, impactful step that would benefit every neighborhood.
Name one thing about Holmdel that always makes you smile.
It’s always the people. The community spirit in Holmdel is extraordinary — you feel it at every event, school function, or gathering.
Our residents take pride in where they live, and that pride is reflected in everything from our vibrant arts scene and top-tier library to the resilience and warmth of our neighborhoods.
Seeing that kind of community engagement and pride is what keeps me inspired and motivated to serve every day.
