More Enforcement Of Distracted Driving Planned By Holmdel PD
During Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Holmdel police will step up enforcement of the problem, it says in "friendly reminder."
HOLMDEL, NJ —Are you distracted when you drive? Checking a text or multi-tasking in your car as you navigate the roads?
If so, it may be the right time to take stock of those habits and rein them in, say Holmdel police.
As part of April's Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Holmdel Police Department will be increasing enforcement throughout the month, specifically aimed at distracted drivers.

"Driving requires your full attention, and anything that takes your focus away from the road is a distraction," the department says. "This is a friendly reminder to pay attention while driving and obey the laws."
Using a cell phone, adjusting the radio, smoking, eating, talking to passengers, having a pet that requires your attention, or using GPS are just some of the distractions that drivers encounter while operating a motor vehicle, police say.
