Legal Tech Company Opens New Office In Bell Works

With their new office, Litera hopes to bring software solutions and new career opportunities to Holmdel residents.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A legal tech company has officially opened the doors to its new office at Bell Works.

On Wednesday, Oct. 15, Litera hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new office, with local officials such as Holmdel Mayor Brian Foster, Assemblywoman Vicky Flynn and Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger in attendance.

Known for serving over 90% of the world’s largest law firms, the company provides software solutions using AI tools to help firms create, edit and manage documents more accurately and efficiently.

“We are thrilled to welcome Litera to Bell Works and to the Holmdel community,” Mayor Foster said.

“Their decision to open an office here not only strengthens our local economy but also creates exciting career opportunities for residents and graduates from nearby universities," Foster continued. "We look forward to seeing Litera thrive in this region and contribute to the energy that makes Bell Works such a unique place to work and gather.”

Known as “a little metropolis in suburbia,” Bell Works hosts a variety of stores, offices and more in Holmdel, ranging from restaurants to an escape room, daycare, barber shop, and even the town library.

In an interview with Patch, Litera’s Chief Revenue Officer Sean Munafo said that the metroburb’s vast collection of businesses serves as a melting pot of organizations that work well with Litera and who they serve.

“When you think about the customers we serve [law firms], they serve all industries, right?” Munafo said. “They’re open and inclusive in terms of who and how they support. So what better place to drop anchor than a building that’s inclusive of all kinds of organizations, verticals and different matters?”

In addition to the businesses that make up Bell Works, Munafo said another part of Litera’s decision to open there had to do with the building’s design, which he said represents “disruption through innovation.”

“We want to create positive disruption through innovation and collaboration,” Munafo said. “So what better marriage can you have in terms of where we’re going to plant our flag in New Jersey?”

While this is Litera’s first office in New Jersey, Munafo said the company hopes to continue its expansion and wants to bring services and events such as a quarterly Career Fair to the local community.

Alongside offering their services to Holmdel businesses and residents, he added that Litera will also be recruiting for jobs that cross “all functions of an organization,” though job opportunities may be rolled out over time since they’ve only just opened their Bell Works office.

“Any given day, when you walk in our office, you’re going to see sales, marketing, product, support, pre-sales, partner,” Munafo said. “So we’re representing all different kinds of business matters that you can get involved with.”

Overall, Munafo said the company hopes to enable local law firms to support their clients in a more productive way and to help the people and businesses of Holmdel and surrounding areas.

“When you look at the core of what our products do, they’re going to enable law firms to support their clients in a more productive and, hopefully, more efficient way,” Munafo said. “And our hope through that is transforming the legal industry to make everything more within reach and give a better understanding of how these tools can help elevate the legal market."
