New Guidelines For Earthquake Relief Donations In Holmdel

The Holmdel Turkey Earthquake Relief Drive is now seeking new camping gear, medical supplies, township says.

HOLMDEL, NJ — The township has put out updated guidelines from the organization shipping items donated for Turkey earthquake relief.

"Going forward, we ask that donations be limited to the two following items only, the township said. They are:

  • New camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, etc.)
  • New, unopened medical supplies

In its post, Holmdel government said it "thanks all of those who have participated in the Earthquake Relief Drive so far. We are overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness."

The earthquake Feb. 6 has devastated parts of Turkey and Syria, and tens of thousands of people have lost their lives as a result of this natural disaster. Thousands more have lost their homes and are living in temporary shelters, the township notes.

Mayor DJ Luccarelli and the Township Committee said the Turkey Earthquake Relief Drive will collect donations of urgently needed supplies for those who were affected by the earthquake.

Holmdel residents can drop off the new camping gear and new medical supplies to a designated area in the Town Hall lobby at 4 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel.
