The National Weather Service has issued an advisory in parts of NJ, with the worst of the flooding to hit the Jersey Shore this weekend.
JERSEY SHORE — The long holiday weekend ahead will be a wet one at Jersey Shore, with rain forecasted and 10 New Jersey counties under a coastal flooding advisory.
As of Friday, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May, Salem, Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties were placed under the advisory, which lasts through 8 p.m. Sunday. The worst of the flooding is expected between Saturday and Sunday morning, the National Weather Service said.
Onshore flow will increase and tide cycles remain elevated from the new moon on Wednesday. Widespread minor to locally moderate coastal flooding will develop with the high tides this weekend. The worst of the flooding looks to be Saturday morning and Sunday morning.

"Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways," the agency said. "At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible."

A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood.
"Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters," the National Weather Service added. "The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs."
