NJ Weekend Weather: Rainy New Year's At Jersey Shore

JERSEY SHORE, NJ — The Jersey Shore will welcome 2022 with rain and wind, according to the weather forecast for the weekend ahead.

There's a chance of rain starting at 1 a.m. on New Year's day and rain will likely continue to pour for the rest of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

On Monday, however, the sun will be out once again.

On Saturday and Sunday, breezy conditions could blow around unsecured items and result in hazardous driving conditions for high-profile vehicles, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's the latest forecast:

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.

Friday Night: A chance of rain after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 48. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

New Year's Day: Rain. High near 57. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 54. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain, mixing with snow after 11pm, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
