NJ Weekend Weather: Showers, Thunderstorms In Forecast
At the Jersey Shore, showers and thunderstorms are expected at least one day this weekend. Here's the latest.
JERSEY SHORE — If you're making plans to go out to a pumpkin farm or walk around town this weekend, Sunday will likely be the best time to do it.
Why? Showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the Garden State on Saturday, likely bringing with it lightning, and winds up to 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
There is an 80 percent of rain on Saturday, with new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch and a possibility of higher amounts later in the day with thunderstorms, the weather agency said.

Gusty showers and scattered storms are most likely to hit the state Saturday afternoon through the early evening with temperatures to hover around the 70-degree mark.
Spotty coastal flooding could occur between Sandy Hook and Long Beach Island and around Cape May.

By Sunday, the skies will likely have cleared out and high temperatures will be close to 64 degrees - the perfect weather for cozy fall activities.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the morning.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. High near 73. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then a chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 55. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Breezy.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. Breezy.
