Over 11,900 Without Power In Manalapan
200K customers are without electricity in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L. Nearly 12,000 residences are out of power in Manalapan.
MANALAPAN, NJ – As of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, over 212,200 customers are without electricity in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L. Manalapan is one of the hardest hit, with 11,973 (over 77 percent of area customers) left in the dark.

Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency earlier Tuesday morning. State police urge residents to stay home and off the roads unless travel is necessary.

Storm-force winds of 45 to 55 mph with gusts up to 75 mph jolted the area, sweeping tree limbs and outdoor furniture into the streets. Manalapan police reported several incidents of trees and wires down, as well as out-of-service traffic lights.
“Please do not travel unless absolutely necessary,” wrote the police department in a social media post. “Please do not take this time to walk your dog in front of your home. We have crews working to clear the roadways and make repairs. Everyone please stay safe.”

Residents are urged to report any power outages by calling JCP&L at 1 (888) 544-4877.
JCP&L has advised 10,037 customers out of power in Manalapan. Crews are working to address safety issues & assessing the extent of the damage. This will take some time.
DPW & PD continue to remove trees blocking roadways. Many traffic lights are still out. Be safe.
