Paving Project To Close Laurel Avenue In Holmdel: Police

Expect a change in traffic patterns on Wednesday on Laurel Avenue in Holmdel for paving under the NJ Transit railroad bridge, police say.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Laurel Avenue will be closed in the area of the railroad bridge from 10 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, for a paving project police said.

Contractors will be paving the roadway under the bridge, police said.

The work is expected to last that one day.

Laurel Avenue reopened to traffic May 22 of 2022 after an accident in March of 2022 damaged a railroad bridge over the road, causing the closure, township officials said.

This emergency state repair project was the result of the accident in which a cement truck crashed into the bridge.
