Police Enforcement Detail Planned In Holmdel: See Where
The enforcement detail is part of the "Goal: Zero" campaign, which aims to confront the rise in traffic deaths NJ has seen in recent years.
HOLMDEL, NJ — The Holmdel Township Police Department’s next “Goal: Zero” high-visibility campaign is set to take place in late August, the department announced Tuesday.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, police said a county-wide enforcement detail will be on Route 34 from 3-7 p.m.
The intent of the campaign is to “confront the staggering rise in traffic deaths” that New Jersey has seen in recent years, according to police.

“Traffic safety culture and driving behaviors need to change in order to keep people alive on NJ roadways,” Holmdel Police said. “Law enforcement agencies in Monmouth County are dedicated to lowering these numbers and keeping our roadways safe.”
As of Tuesday, police said 352 people have lost their lives on NJ roadways in 2025, with 13 of these deaths occurring in Monmouth County.

As a result of the 2024 enforcement details, officers in Monmouth County stopped 2,276 vehicles and issued 1,400 summonses, including 129 speeding violations, 76 careless driving violations and more.
16 arrests were also made, police said, which included one instance of driving while intoxicated (DWI).
