Police Searching For Monmouth County Bank Robber

Middletown police are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank at gunpoint in the Port Monmouth section

Police in Middletown are currently investigating a bank robbery that took place in the Port Monmouth section of the township, according to Middletown Police Detedtive Lieutenant Stephen Dollinger.

According to Lt. Dollinger, officers from the Middletown Police Department responded to the Two River Bank, located at Highway 36, at approximately 8:40 this morning for a report of an armed robbery that had taken place.

Witnesses at the bank at the time reported to police that a male, approximately 25 years of age and wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with a black cloth pulled over his mouth, entered the bank and demanded an undisclosed amount of money.

The witnesses further described the subject as approximately 5’5” tall with a slim build, a medium to olive skin tone, and armed with a black handgun.

The suspect was last seen running from the bank, according to Lt. Dollinger.
