Rumson-Fair Haven Regional HS Teacher Will Train With Harvard
The social studies teacher will participate in Harvard Business School Case Method Project in December.

RUMSON, NJ — A teacher from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School will participate in Harvard Business School's Case Method Project.
The program was created to bring case method teaching to high schools and colleges so that educators can use this methodology to deepen students’ understanding of American democracy.
Megan Wilkins, a social studies teacher and mentor, will be formally trained in December. The program will approach teaching critical thinking and problem-solving skills, using collaborative discussion and primary source documents.

After the program, she will begin using Case Method in her classes before becoming a full “teacher partner” with the Case Method Project.
Wilkins currently teaches advanced placement United States Government and Politics, Constitutional Law, Practical Law and United States History II.

She has participated in the past in a community workshop with the professor that created the Case Method Project, David Moss.
He adapted the program to include a series of workshops for high school and college teachers wishing to incorporate the Method into their curricula and instruction. He also pioneered the course "History of American Democracy" in 2013.
Today, the Case Method Project works with teachers in more than 800 schools in 48 states and the District of Columbia to increase student energy and engagement with a diverse array of topics and foster civic engagement.
