'Safe Not Sorry' Offers Self Defense to Young Holmdel Women

The deadline for registration is April 24.

The young women of Holmdel are about to get a chance to learn the potential dangers of college.

The Holmdel Police Department's "Safe Not Sorry" program is in its fourth year, teaching self defense to Holmdel seniors as they prepare to enter their freshmen year.

“Reducing your chances of a sexual assault may be as simple as being aware of your environment, and responding quickly to it," said Holmdel Police Chief John Mioduszewski. “Young women, and their parents, will learn avoidance and awareness skills and how to enforce boundaries, both verbally and physically."
