State Police Helicopter To Come To Hazlet Tuesday, Police Advise

"No cause for concern": Hazlet police say a state police helicopter will be landing in town Tuesday afternoon, part of Police Youth Academy.

HAZLET, NJ — Hazlet police are advising residents that the New Jersey State Police will be landing a helicopter in town Tuesday afternoon as part of the Hazlet Township Youth Academy.

Originally scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, the landing was postponed for weather.

"There is no need for concern if you see this helicopter hover around town," police advised.

This is the week of the Police Youth Academy, in which youth learned some history about the department and about law enforcement techniques on day one, Monday.

Cadets also learned about a defensive weapon - the expandable baton - and practiced their strikes. They had marching and facing maneuvers, as well as push-ups for the first day, police said.
