Tennis, Pickleball Courts Now Open In Hazlet's Veterans Park
Newly resurfaced Hazlet complex has two tennis courts and six pickleball courts.
HAZLET, NJ — Hazlet’s new pickleball and tennis courts are now open in Veterans Park, the Township Committee announced Wednesday.
The new complex has two tennis courts and six pickleball courts. It replaces four tennis courts that needed improvements, the township said.
Improvements to the courts include resurfacing of the existing court surface.

The green, blue and light blue color coating system chosen for the court surface is 100 percent acrylic and International Tennis Federation certified.
The courts are available for use by residents, Hazlet Swim & Tennis Club members, and the pickleball community, the township said.

Due to the popularity of the sports, rules will be posted on site and on the township website about how they are to be shared.
Look for learn-to-play announcements from the Hazlet Department of Aging and Hazlet Recreation, the township said.
Veterans Park is at 1776 Union Ave., at the James J. Cullen Recreation Center.
