Traffic Light Issues Impact Travel On Route 35 In Hazlet

While traffic lights are down, Hazlet Police said travelers won't be able to cross the highway at impacted areas.

Update: As of 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Hazlet Police said lights are functional again and power has been restored.


HAZLET, NJ — Drivers should be aware of traffic light issues impacting travel on Route 35 in Hazlet.

According to the Hazlet Township Police Department, traffic lights at Miller (by Costco) and at Holmdel Road are shut down.

Though police said the NJ Department of Transportation has been notified of the issue and is working to resolve it, there will be no crossing the highway at Miller or Holmdel Road until the light issue is fixed.

Around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Hazlet Police also reported that the NJ Department of Transportation was repairing the traffic light at Route 35 and Bethany/Poole because it was not functioning.

As of Wednesday afternoon, police said Bethany/Poole and Hazlet Ave. are functioning, and are asking drivers to plan alternate routes or cross the highway there.
