MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — As the weekend begins and the holiday season gets closer, there are plenty of events happening around Monmouth County this weekend to enjoy.

Whether you’re looking to sample wines from across the Garden State, see a ballet performance, or get a head-start on holiday gift shopping, here are five local events you can check out this weekend:

NJ Wine Expo

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 15
  • Location: Bell Works (101 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel)
  • Details: Meet wineries from across the Garden State, enjoy wine samplings and more at the New Jersey Wine Expo. Tickets are required and can be purchased here.

Holiday Craft & Vendor Show

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 15
  • Location: The Historic Village at Allaire (4263 Atlantic Ave., Farmingdale)
  • Details: Stroll through Allaire Village pathways filled with over 150 local artisans selling unique crafts, paintings, pottery, textiles and more. Visitors can also enjoy live demonstrations, visit the Allaire Bakery & General Store, and find gifts for the holiday season. Admission is $5 per person for those 10 years old and up.

NJ Ballet Presents ‘Visionary Voices’

  • Dates: Saturday (Nov. 15) & Sunday (Nov. 16)
  • Location: Two River Theater (21 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank)
  • Details: Enjoy groundbreaking works by some of today’s most compelling choreographers when the New Jersey Ballet performs at the Two River Theater. The show’s runtime is 95 minutes, including two 20-minute intermissions. Tickets range from $29 to $59 and can be purchased here.

Turkey Trot 5K & 2-Mile Run/Walk

  • Date: Sunday, Nov. 16
  • Location: Oak Glen Park (300 Preventorium Road, Howell)
  • Details: Join Howell Township for their annual 5K Turkey Trot & 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk, with a chance to run the trail that connects Oak Glen Park to the Manasquan Reservoir. Pre-registration is required (costs $25), with a shirt and a medal guaranteed to the first 125 registrations. You can register here.

The Beatles For Kids

  • Date: Sunday, Nov. 16.
  • Location: The Vogel (99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank)
  • Details: Enjoy a show from The Rock & Roll Playhouse, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country that performs songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history. Tickets start at $23.85 and can be purchased here.
