27-Ton Log Splitter Stolen from Geneva Trail Home's Yard

Equipment valued at more than $1,300 was reported stolen Wednesday morning.

Hopatcong Borough Police are investigating the theft of a Troy-Bilt 27-ton log splitter from a house's yard on Geneva Trail last Wednesday.

Lt. Thomas Kmetz said police received a report at about 9:30 a.m. from a woman who said someone entered her yard, damaging the fence, and took the log splitter, which was valued at $1,329.

Kmetz asks anyone with relevant information, such as if you know or see someone who just got a log splitter who normally wouldn't buy one, to contact the Police Department at 973-398-5000.
