4-Year-Old Dies In North Jersey, Cops Say
The child was in need of a "medical assist" before they died, officials said.
SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A four-year-old child was pronounced dead this week after requiring medical attention, according to police.
On Tuesday around 12:30 p.m., state police were called to the area near South Shore Drive, a residential road beside Lake Neepaulin, on a report that a child needed medical assistance.
Police arrived to find an unresponsive four-year-old, officials said.

Authorities said the child later died, but did not specify if it was at the South Shore Drive location, at a hospital, or en route to a hospital.
Authorities also did not mention what prompted the need for medical assistance or the child's cause of death.

The death is currently under investigation, police added.
The Sussex County Prosecutor's Office is working with the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death, a spokesperson said.
