SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — Many consider New Jersey to have the best pizza in the world. But what’s the best of the best? According to Food Network, the best slice in New Jersey can be found in Sussex County.
Dominick’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Newton has the best pizza in NJ, according to Food Network’s 50 Best Pizza Slices By State 2025.
Located on 10 East Clinton Street, Dominick’s originally opened in 1975 by two Sicilian immigrants. It wasn’t until 1984 that, according to the pizza joint’s website, Rosolino and his family took over the business.

Now owned and operated by brothers Peter, Sal, and Frankie, Dominick’s is dedicated to “customer satisfaction, exceptional service, uncompromising value, and delicious food has been the foundation of our business.”
“As time marches on, we are constantly challenged to grow and improve, and we welcome that challenge,” Dominick’s site reads. “One thing, however, will never change – our family’s time-honored commitment to being the very best we can be for ourselves and, more importantly, our customers.”

While the establishment offers a wide variety of traditional and gourmet pies (including its renowned Palermo-crust pizza), it also offers a range of pasta, sandwich, and wrap selections, among many other menu items.
“Dominick’s has been a staple for my pizza delivery and take-out since I have moved to Newton,” a five-star Google review wrote. “The food quality is always on point. I would recommend almost anything on the menu, but their Palermo crust pizza is truly out of this world. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good eat.”
The BYOB establishment, which offers free delivery, is open Sunday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
