Car Bursts Into Flame On Rt. 15: Sparta Police

SPARTA, NJ — A Jeep burst into flames on the side of Route 15 north Tuesday afternoon, Sparta police said.

The driver pulled over near the 10.5 mile market around 3:30 p.m. when she smelled smoke, police said. The driver got out of the car to investigate the smell when the car unexpectedly caught fire; it was quickly engulfed, police said.

The Sparta Fire Department extinguished the flames. At this point, there is no cause of the fire.
