DWI Charges Stem From Other Driver Alerting Sparta Police

An unidentified driver told a dispatcher they'd follow another driver they described as "erratic," until an officer could get to the scene.

SPARTA, NJ — The Sparta Police Department received a helping hand the other day from an unknown driver, who called the department after they said they saw another car navigating erratically on Glen Road.

Lt. John Lamon of the Sparta Police Department said Monday that dispatchers received a call this past Saturday at about 4:30 p.m. from a driver that said they witnessed an Audi traveling haphazardly while they were driving on Glen Road.

The driver told police they’d follow the other car until an officer was able to get there.

After arriving on the scene, the responding officer stopped the Audi and ended up charging its driver Dorthy Korybski, 54 of Newton, with DWI, failure to maintain lane and careless driving, according to a news release from the police department.

Korybski has an upcoming court date for the charges, Lamon said.
