Halloween Redux for Hopatcong Senior Inc Revelers
Energetic Hopatcong Senior Inc Crowd Enjoys Parties
The Hopatcong Seniors Inc has become one of the largest community 501c groups in the borough of Hopatcong. Its membership is over 200 people where requirements to join is being a Hopatcong resident of 60 plus years of age. This popularity made them find a larger location from the Hopatcong Senior Center to Saint Jude Church for their first Thursday of the month 10:00 a.m. general meeting. These meetings also have an agenda slot for an elected Borough Government rep to communicate relative public announcements and important current affairs to their constituents. Attendees also have an opportunity to offer their feedback on borough concerns important to them too.
Many members of Seniors Inc are decades long term Hopatcong residents who love the recreational and social friendships that a lake community brings. Retired energetic baby boomers are refamiliarizing themselves again to the great leisure activities of boating, lake beach associations and of course joining the Hopatcong Seniors Inc. It has become famed for its main mission - to provide exciting bus party weekday trips (some overnight trips too) and organized local holiday social events at a special group discounted fare.
On Tues October 30th the Hopatcong Seniors Inc had their Halloween party at the Lake Hopatcong Elks lodge in Mt Arlington that was catered by The Grotto Restaurant in Hopatcong. The Halloween attire was telling of the type of energetic senior revelers they are. A few of them sported bright orange tee shirts for a “Shades of Death 5K Run”. One man showed off his gorgeous glams in pantyhose as a “Hooters Reject” while two women were dressed up as hippies. Borough Councilman Bradley Hoferkamp costumed as a judge but didn’t do the judging. However, he did help to MC the Halloween parade on the dance floor.
