Hopatcong Man Charged After 'Large Fight' At Bar: Police

The man was released following a court hearing.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Hopatcong man was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon following a fight at the Basket of Cheer bar in Parsippany, police said.

Dennis Lake, 44, from Hopatcong, was arrested following the Feb. 15 fight, police said. According to police, they were called to the bar on a report of a "large fight" and found Lake outside with a belt wrapped around his hand.

Police said Lake hit another man with the belt, causing head injuries. Lake was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

Lake was also charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was released from the Morris County Correctional Facility following a hearing.
