NJ Drug Counselor Who Sexually Harassed Clients Is Suspended, AG Says
The counselor has a history of sexual misconduct in the workplace, according to the attorney general.
SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A drug and alcohol counselor with a history of sexual harassment allegations has been suspended for intimidating two of his clients, and having sex with one of them, according to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin.
Jon E. Boschen is a drug and alcohol counselor and licensed clinical social worker out of Sussex County. Following allegations that he was sexually harassing and intimidating two residents of the rehab where he worked, his license has been suspended for five years, officials said.
According to authorities, Boschen harassed two women under his care in the rehab and engaged in a personal, sexual relationship with one of them.

Officials added that Boschen had been fired from a different rehab for making “inappropriate, sexualized comments” to a female client during her counseling sessions.
In addition to the five-year license suspension, Boschen is ordered to pay $10,000 to the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners’ Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee, and another $10,000 to the State Board of Social Work Examiners.

For five years, Boschen is barred from engaging in social work, alcohol and drug counseling, or any other mental health counseling, clinical supervision, or life coaching in New Jersey. These restrictions include any work in a volunteer capacity.
If he intends to continue counseling work after the suspension, Boschen will need to redo the required schooling to receive his license, according to a final consent order.
