To have selected the Top 50 Women, with Garger among them, was done by “a panel of independent judges,” according to the publication, who whittled through a list of nominations.

According to a news release on behalf of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey about Garger’s honor, the group wrote that she has worked “tirelessly to identify female mentors who empower and inspire girls, creating an environment where adult volunteers can help develop the leaders of tomorrow through their mentorship.”
