A former Hopatcong resident and current Hunterdon County man was found not guilty on seven counts of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after a weeks-long trial.

Joel Adams, now 30, was accused of sexually assaulting a girl between 2004 and 2007 when the child was between seven and 10 years of age, nj.com reported.

Adams was arrested in October 2011. Both he and the alleged victim testified during the trial, and the girl confided in a friend about the alleged incidents before Adams was arrested, dailyrecord.com reported.
