Sabretti's Gets Makeover, Wants to Stay Top Dog
Local hot dog restaurant plans for bigger changes in the new year.
Sabretti's is going into the new year with new style.
The Hopatcong hot dog restaurant, located on Lakeside Boulevard, recently changed its design by replacing its menu boards, adding pictures to the walls, and improving the menu to make it easier and more exciting for customers when they step into the restaurant.
Owner Rohan Shetty said that ever since he opened his unique hot dog restaurant in Hopatcong in July 2011, he has been making changes to the restaurant to make sure customers are completely satisfied.

With 30 speciality hot dogs to choose from, Shetty noticed some customers ordering hot dogs and not knowing what to expect.
Shetty wanted to make it easier for the customers, and replaced all of the menu boards, that used to just have plain black font, with pictures of each hot dog.

He's also planning on adding pictures to the walls, including one of himself with Real Housewife of New Jersey Melissa Gorga, who he met earlier this month.
He also added three new items the menu; the Hersey Dog, which contains chocolate syrup and marshmellows, the Hurricane Sandy Dog, which contains mustard, krout and onion crunch, and Roadhouse Chili.
Shetty said his most popular hot dogs have been the Vegas Dog, which includes mustard and krout, and the Hopatcong Dog, which has mild spicy chili, cheese and onion crunch on it.
Shetty's hot dogs range from his own creations, including the Crazy Witch, which is the spiciest item on the menu that has jalepenos, and spicy onion sauce on it, and other hot dogs that reflect different parts from the country, including Atlanta, Chicago and Kansas City.
"Everything is keep it simple," he said. "Everything is very recession based which means it's really cost effective."
The speciality dogs are priced at $2.09, and the plain dogs at $1.95. There's even a Recession Special for $4.99 which includes 2 speciality dogs and a drink.
Shetty, a Hopatcong resident, said he has enjoyed being a part of the community and taking part in many borough events.
He has assisted in many events ranging from Hopatcong Days to the Halloween Parade. He recently donated over 300 hot dogs to a Christmas event at St. Jude's, and also donates his items for benefits for the high school and local churches. Shetty, whose step-daughter Tiana, is a junior at the high school, said he likes being able to help his community.
"I enjoy just seeing a lot of the people I know, and serving a lot of the people that I know," he said.
