Patch has earned a reputation for being the most informative, up-to-date place to find news and events happening in your area. Part of that is our great editors and the relationships we have built in our communities. But the other part is the great content our contributors upload to Patch.

Local residents know more about the neighborhoods they live in than anyone else. As a member of that community, we want to let you in on what you can do as a registered Patch user.

If it's happening in your town, Patch wants to know about it. Registered users can share local news, photos, videos and more by posting announcements on Patch. Whether you're looking for a lost dog, looking to sell a piece of furniture, or hosting a fundraiser, you can announce it on Patch. You can even choose to share a Patch announcement to nearby Patches along with your own if you're looking to reach a wider audience.

Have you checked out the Patch calendar? This is the place to find out what's happening in town, and registered Patch users can post as many events as they'd like. There is no limit. This is an awesome place for the local churches, PTAs and Choir Boosters to post all the events they have going on. It's the best way to get the word out about an upcoming event so members of your community can attend.

If you're hiring for a full-time, part-time or seasonal position, posting your job listing to Patch will definitely get it seen by potential applicants. Unlike those big, anonymous job sites with listings from all over, the Patch Job Board only shows job openings in your area.

Post Faster Using Quickpost

Good news: Posting on Patch just got a whole lot easier. Now, whenever you visit your local homepage, you'll see a simple posting box at the top of the page.

Here at Patch, we're calling it "quick post." But it's basically just a box that you type into and hit the "Post" button, just like you would on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the rest.

You can use the new posting box to share your questions, alerts, recommendations, callouts, classifieds, local news stories or tips — whatever you think your neighbors, or your local Patch editor, should know about!

You can also reply to people posting nearby, as well as "Like" or "Thank" them for sharing.
