WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Aviation officials said a small plane crashed at Sussex Airport shortly before noon on Tuesday.

The pilot was the only person on board when the single-engine Cessna 150 crashed at around 11:45 a.m. local time, per the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA will investigate the incident. No additional information was immediately available, including the pilot's condition.

The Sussex Airport is located on County Road 629 in Wantage Township, with one runway on its 96-acre campus, and is home to many single- and twin-engine propeller planes, the airport website states.

Patch has reached out to public safety officials for more information; Wantage Township does not have its own police force and is served by New Jersey State Police.
