Deck plates on a bridge on Sparta's Main Street are slated for repair. The County of Sussex plans to replace the bridge in 2022.

SPARTA, NJ — A bridge on a county road that runs through Sparta’s Main Street is anticipated to be closed for three days beginning on Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 26, to repair steel deck plates on the bridge.
Sussex County’s Office of Bridge and Traffic Safety and Division of Public Works is making the repairs, with the bridge expected to be replaced in 2022.
According to information from the County of Sussex that Sparta Police shared, the deck plates were installed as a measure to mitigate deterioration of the bridge deck and its steel beams.
