Sparta Woman Accused Of Stealing From Employers Facing Fraud Charges In 3rd Case
Nicole L. Travers, 29, used a cancer fundraiser to garner donations and then altered one of the checks, police said.

SPARTA, N.J.– A township woman accused of stealing from two different employers now faces fraud charges after police say she used a cancer fundraiser to garner donations and then altered one of the checks.
Nicole L. Travers, 29, is being held at the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, Sparta Sgt Dennis Proctor said.
Travers was soliciting donations on the corner of Westgate Drive and Partridge Lane around 4:45 p.m. Monday, Proctor said.

Officer Erick Finley arrested Travers for an outstanding warrant for forgery and theft by deception, the sergeant said.
Travers was charged again with theft by deception, Proctor said.

Detective Brian Hassloch and Detective Sgt. Terrence Mulligan assisted with the investigation, he added.
