A Sparta woman charged with shoplifting and possession of heroin and a hypodermic syringe was sentenced to two years of probation at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton Nov. 8.
Courtney L. DeVito, 20, appeared before Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Critchley. In addition to a requirement to follow her probation officer's rules, the woman must keep a job and pay various fines and penalties, according to Sussex County Prosecutor David J. Weaver.
