'Suspicious' Man Went Through Resident's Truck, Cops Say

Police investigating Maxim Drive incident.

Hopatcong police are investigating a man allegedly rifling through a Maxim Drive resident's truck around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

According to Lt. Thomas Kmetz, the "suspicious activity" occurred when a resident woke up to his exterior motion light turning on. The resident did not look out the window as he thought an animal may have caused the light to go on, Kmetz said, but when he watched surveillance footage the next day from his security camera, he saw a man wearing dark pants, a grey sweatshirt and white sneakers near his truck.

Kmetz said the truck was locked, but the man appeared to be trying to access one of the utility boxes on the truck. Nothing was taken from the truck.
