PRESS RELEASE

February 7, 2022

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Virtual Courtroom in Newton on February 1, 2022 by Shamarr Soto.

     Soto, age 25, of Vernon, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a crime of the third degree. Sentencing is presently scheduled for February 18, 2022 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C.                          
     The defendant admitted to being in possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. He must successfully complete the Recovery Court Program.

     Defendant was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras.
