Vernon Man Who Assaulted Officer Given 3 Years Probation: Prosecutor

Police said the man punched a pane of glass into an officer's face during a hit-and-run investigation.

SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J.– A man who police say punched a pane of glass into an officer's face during a hit-and-run investigation was sentenced to three years probation, authorities said.

Thomas Pfefferkorn, 19, of Vernon is required to complete 300 hours of community service, obtain a mental health evaluation, continue with anger management counseling, submit a 200-word apology letter and submit a DNA sample, Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said.

Pfefferkorn plead guild to aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer on Sept. 12, Koch said.
