Howell Police To Host National Night Out Event Tuesday
The Howell National Night Out, presented by Howell PAL and the Police Department, will take place at Soldier Memorial Park.
HOWELL, NJ —The Howell Police Athletic League will host a National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Soldier Memorial Park.
The park is at 587 Lakewood Farmingdale Road, Howell, 07731.
The National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Howell Township Police Department.

The event is free and includes a variety of activities and a chance for the public to learn about and interact with law enforcement and first responders.
National Night Out is held in most states on the first Tuesday of August. It began decades ago with residents turning on porch lights, but it now is a community event.

"National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances," the organization establishing the program says on its website.
