Howell Resident Faces Forgery, Drug Charges

Charges stem from incidents between February and July.

A Howell resident is facing several charges after a Monmouth County Grand Jury handed up a four count indictment including forgery and obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.

Stephanie M. Cross, 36, of Smith Street was indicted on one count of third degree forgery. According to the indictment on or about February 28 Cross altering or changing prescription blanks in the township. She is also charged with one count of second degree uttering a forged instrument for allegedly trying to use the prescription blanks at a Walgreens in the township between February 28 and July 29.

The third count of the indictment is for third degree obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud for allegedly getting adderall through “misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge,” during that time.

She is also charged with one count of third degree attempted obtaining a controlled dangerous substance. On or about July 29 Cross is alleged to have attempted to get adderall in the township.
