Turkey Derby Racers Headed to Woody's Friday

The 40th Annual Turkey Derby will be held just down the road at the Wall Speedway this weekend and before the action really gets underway some of the top drivers will be at Woody’s roadside Tavern signing autographs for race fans.

Drivers scheduled to attend include Howell’s own Jimmy Blewett, Kevin Manion, Ryan Preece, Gary Putnam and Tommy Baldwin. Of the 40 years the race has been held Blewett has emerged victorious 13 times.

Those fans planning to check out the action at the track will want to bundle up. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of just 38 degrees during the day before dipping down to around 25 tonight.

Not only is today Black Friday but it is also Buy Nothing Day and for those who avoid shopping altogether you can also enjoy Square Dance Day. On this date in 1890 Navy won the first in its series against Army in a 24-0 blowout at West Point.
