Wandering High School Student Causes Lockdown at Greenville

Lockdown lifted after investigation by Howell Police Department.

Greenville School in the Ramtown section of Howell was temporarily placed on lockdown Monday morning after an unauthorized person was seen on the school’s property.

An email from Principal Lynn Coco said the person was seen at approximately 10 a.m. walking behind the building and that the Howell Police Department was immediately called. Coco said after an investigation it was determined the person was a high school student who thought schools were closed for the Veterans Day holiday.

Coco added “Due to our preparedness for these types of situations, we were in lockdown for only a short period of time.”
