You can safely get rid of your unused or unwanted prescription drugs.

Here are five things you need to know about Drug Disposal Day in Jefferson Township on Saturday.
- You Need to Know Why: Becky Carlson, the Center for Prevention and Counseling's assistant director, said many people don't know how to properly dispose of prescription drugs. "Toilet, sinkβit goes into the water system somehow eventually," she said. "This way it makes it very simple. It's in the community and it's through the police department."
- You Need to Know When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- You Need to Know Where: Jefferson Township Municipal Building on Weldon Road.
- You Need to Know What to Bring: Expired or unwanted prescriptions or over-the-counter medications; drugs that didnβt work for you, a family member or pet; drugs that are no longer used or from deceased family members; Unknown tablets and capsules.
