5 Things About Wednesday's Council Meeting
Proclamations and bid awards among the agenda items.

The Jefferson Township council, the governing body of the town we call home, meets on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. There are a number of items on the agenda that you may want to be present for. Hereβs what you need to know:
- You Need to Know Where: The meeting is held in council chambers at the Municipal Building on Weldon Rd.
- You Need to Know About Proclamation No. 1: The agenda includes a proclamation honoring Rick Norris as he is inducted into the Isshinryu Karate Hall of Fame and as a recipient of the Character Counts Award from Recreation Advisory Board.
- You Need to Know About Proclamation No. 2: The second proclamation declares Oct. 22-30 Red Ribbon Week in Jefferson schools. This celebration gathers students together in an effort to provide substance abuse awareness and prevention.
- You Need to Know About New Business: Wednesdayβs new business includes a request for an outdoor gathering permit from the Jefferson Arts Committee for Christmas in the Village, to be held on Dec. 3. The committee is requesting a waiver of the $50 permit fee and uniform fire safety fee of $42 per vendor.
- You Need to Know About The Consent Agenda: This item includes bid awards for snow removal contractors for 2011-2012 and well capping.
