Anyone who was at Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 2 last night should be very well versed in how to prevent fires, or what to do if one starts.

In honor of National Fire Safety Week, the company held an open house on Wednesday night.

Members gave tours of the firehouse and several different trucks. Volunteers helped kids dress in full firefighting regalia.

In addition, a digital safety machine was on hand to simulate a fire, and allow kids the opportunity to use a simulated fire extinguisher.

Refreshments were also available for all those who came hungry.
