Alleged Drunk Driver Charged With Punching Cop: Jefferson PD

JEFFERSON, NJ — Jefferson Township Police made a number of arrests between Oct. 1 and Oct. 27, including a number for drunk driving and one for aggravated assault on a police officer. You can read about those arrests, as written by police in the blotter, here.
10/01/2019: Robert Devos, 55, of Hackettstown, was arrested for DWI and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, during a motor vehicle stop for erratic driving on Berkshire Valley Road. During the motor vehicle stop, Cpl. Romash’s investigation revealed Mr. Devos was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and he was placed under arrest. During the processing of Mr. Devos, at Jefferson Township Police Headquarters, Mr. Devos struck Sgt. Fedo several times and had to be restrained. In addition to DWI and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Mr. Devos also received summons for Reckless Driving and failure to maintain lane. Mr. Devos was released on a summons with a future court date.
10/02/2019: A 44-year-old man from York, PA was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle stop on Route 15 South. The man was operating his vehicle in the wrong direction on Route 15 South. He was traveling north in the area of Route 15 South Plaza, on Routh 15 South. P.O. Paskas’ investigation revealed the man was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. He was transported to Jefferson Township Police Headquarters to be processes. He was issued summons and released pending his court appearance.

10/03/2019: A 25-year-old from Wharton was arrested for DWI during a MV Crash Investigation. Mr. Ortiz was operating his vehicle on Route 15 North, when he changed lanes, striking another vehicle near the intersection of Route 15 north and Berkshire Valley Road. P.O. Lamantia’s investigation revealed the man was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to Jefferson Township Police Headquarters to be processed. He was issued summons and released pending his court appearance
10/14/2019: A 23-year-old Randolph man was arrested for DWI after being involved in a single car MV Crash on Route 15 north. He was suspected by P.O. Ondish to be under influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to Jefferson Township Police Headquarters to be processed. He was released pending a future court date.

10/17/2019: A 28-year-old woman from Gibbstown, NJ was arrested for DWI after striking a guide rail on Route 15 north in the area of Edison Road. P.O. Johnson’s investigation revealed the woman was under the influence of alcohol. She was issued several MV summons and released pending her court appearance.
10/24/2019: A 50-year-old woman from Tobyhanna, PA was arrested during a MV Stop on Berkshire Valley Road for DWI. P.O. Ondish’s investigation revealed the woman was under the influence of alcohol. She was placed under arrest and transported to Jefferson Township Police Headquarters to be processed. She was issued summons and released pending a future court date.
10/27/2019: A 37-year-old woman from Lake Hopatcong was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle stop on Edison Road. P.O. Johnson’s investigation revealed the woman was under the influence of alcohol. She was placed under arrest and transported to Jefferson Township Police Headquarters to be processed. She was issued summons and released pending a future court date.
