Book Fair at White Rock School, Getting Closer to Lake Cleanup

Well, Hopatcong and Sparta survived Election Day. Here's what you need to know for Wednesday.

• It's the White Rock School's turn to promote reading. The Scholastic Book Fair comes to the elementary school Wednesday. From 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., books will available for purchase in the school's Media Center, 2 Francine Place in Oak Ridge.
• The Lake Hopatcong Community Cleanup is coming this weekend, and it is not too late to volunteer. Hundreds are expected at the event, which will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can sign up individually, as a team or as a team captain at lakehopatcongfoundation.org. Registration is quick and easy. During the cleanup, all volunteers will pick up debris with a team; you'll be provided with gloves and trash bags. 
• Don't forget, parents: the New Jersey Education Association conference is Thursday and Friday, so school children have the next two days off from school.
