After a 20-year career as a locksmith, Tami Singer was ready for a career change, something that would add creativity to her life. She chose to open A La Art, a pottery painting studio, in Lake Hopatcong.
βI wanted to foster a sense of community, a place where families can be together,β Singer said. βItβs great to see when families come in and work on projects and talk to each other.β
A La Art has been open for about six weeks, but had its official grand opening on Saturday.

βItβs been great so far. Weβve met a lot of wonderful people and the town has been very supportive,β Singer said.
