Dancing with 'Bon Jovi'
Bad Medicine rocked the high school, and I got to be a part of it.
If you're a regular Jefferson Patch reader, you know we've been covering the entire Jefferson Highlights Summer Concert series. And usually we write a report of the show. This time, however, I will digress a bit. Allow me to gush for a moment.
I have long been a very faithful Bon Jovi fan, so when I asked Art Bonito, head of the concert series, if I could introduce Bad Medicine, the Bon Jovi tribute band that was this week's highlight of the series, he said yes, and I was very excited. The actual introduction was so much fun. It was a special moment for me personally and for Jefferson Patch.
I had met Steve Sage, who plays Jon Bon Jovi in the band, prior to the show. He was very personable, answering all of my questions. At that time, I found out the band would be playing "Bed of Roses," one of my favorite Bon Jovi songs.

When the band played the song, Sage dedicated it to me. And during the instrumental break in the song, he came down off the stage and danced with me. I realize it wasn't the "real" Jon Bon Jovi, but it was close. All I could think of at that moment was "wow."
The evening appeared to be as much fun for the rest of the crowd as it was for me. The concert had to be moved from the planned Camp Jefferson venue to the high school due to inclement weather, but that didn't stop the crowd, old and young alike, from making its way down to the front of the auditorium, dancing and singing along to every song.

Besides Sage, the band includes Joey Anderson on drums, Rob DeMartino on bass, Keith Hill on keyboards and Johnny Roggio on guitar.
