Eleventh Hour Rescue Hoping to Win Prize Money

Eleventh Hour Rescue, with volunteers throughout Jefferson Township, is searching for help in winning money from Pepsi. The following is a press release submitted by the organization:

Eleventh Hour Rescue is competing during the month of July for a chance to win $50,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project and we need your help!

Eleventh Hour Animal Rescue is a not for profit 501c3 animal rescue based out of Rockaway, NJ. We rescue dogs at the "eleventh hour"--when they are scheduled to be put to death by shelters that can no longer care for them. We give the dogs all the medical attention they require, a place to live, and through our adoption services, a second chance at a happy and fulfilled life. Eleventh Hour Rescue is made up of dedicated individuals who believe that innocent pets deserve love and a place to live where they are honored and cared for. No dog deserves to die simply because they do not have a home. We have fulfilled our promise for a second chance at life for over 4,000 dogs since 2004.

During the month of July, Eleventh Hour Rescue is participating in contest through the Pepsi Company, called the Pepsi Refresh Project. Each month, organizations, businesses, and individuals are able to submit their ideas for a grant in 4 monetary tiers and Pepsi awards the top vote-getting submissions with a total of $1,125,000 in grant money! We have entered our “idea” for a new state of the art kennel for the dogs at Eleventh Hour Rescue.

Our organization will win a $50,000 grant, if we are one of the top 10 ideas as voted on by the public. The money will be used to help us build a brand new state of the art kennel. While our current kennel has suited our needs for the last few years, our organization has been growing with leaps and bounds. With that, it has become clear that we need a facility that is our own!  Our new facility will increase the number of runs available and therefore allow us to save the lives of even more dogs. Each dog will have a spacious indoor/outdoor run and there will be multiple play areas on the property for exercise and training. We are really excited for the many things we already have planned. But, we need your help to raise much needed funds for this project.  

Individuals are able to vote once per day by computer and once per day by text message. However, Pepsi also has Power Votes, which can be obtained from codes on specially marked Pepsi bottle caps and boxes. These codes are worth an additional 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, or 100 votes! Each person can enter 10 codes a day. These votes could mean the difference in us winning the contest and the money.

We are asking our supporters to please visit our Pepsi page every single day and vote for us. You can get to our page by going to http://www.refresheverything.com/eleventhhourrescuesnewkennel or finding the link on our website at www.ehrdogs.org. You can also text PEPSI (73774) with the number 107656 in the message for another vote. Each individual can enter 10 Power Vote codes every day for additional votes.

If you have yellow Pepsi caps with codes or codes from boxes of Pepsi, we have several options for you to help Eleventh Hour Rescue even more! Each Saturday, you can visit us at the Rockaway Petsmart from 11am-4pm during our adoption event and drop your caps off in our collection bin. We also have bins conveniently located at the Petco in East Hanover and Parsippany Shop Rite which are available all week long. Finally, you can stop by our kennel in Randolph (861 Route 10) with any codes and leave them in our donation bin out front. More locations will be added to this list soon, so please check our website for more details. If you cannot make it to any of these places, you can also e-mail your codes to eleventhhrrescue@aol.com. Contact us if you would like to set up a collection bin at your place of work or a local merchant. We will be happy to provide a container and fliers with information about this contest.
